Ajith Kumar (born 1 May 1971) is an Indian film actor best known by his mononym Ajith. He has starred in over 50 films, predominately in Tamil cinema. In addition to his acting, Ajith Kumar in a sabbatical, he is motor car racer and participated in the MRF Racing series (2010) in Chennai.
He began his career with a small role in the 1990 Tamil film En Veedu En Kanavar. Singer S. P. Balasubrahmanyam introduced Ajith to Tamil film industry by referring him to play lead role in Amaravathi (1993). Then, Ajith starred in film Prema Pusthakam (1993), and his first critical acclaimed appearance was in the thriller Aasai (1995). He subsequently established himself as a romantic hero with Kadhal Kottai (1996), Aval Varuvala (1998) and Kadhal Mannan (1998). Successful films such as Vaali (1999), Mugavaree (2000), Kandukondain Kandukondain (2000) and Citizen (2001) followed. He established himself as an action hero with films such as Amarkalam (1999), Dheena (2001), Villain (2002), Attahasam (2004), Varalaru (2006), Mankatha (2011), Arrambam (2013), Veeram (2014), Yennai Arindhaal (2015) and Vedalam (2015).
Devayani is an Indian actress who has predominantly starred in Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam films, along with a few Kannada, Hindi and Bengali films. She received the Tamil Nadu State Film Award for Best Actress for her performances in the films Surya Vamsam and Bharathi and a Special Award for Kadhal Kottai. She was the leading actress from 1993 to 2003. She has also appeared in other commercially successful films, including Aanandham and Friends as well as in the Sun TV series Kolangal and Muthaaram.
Manivannan (31 July 1953 – 15 June 2013), popularly known mononymously as Manivannan, was an Indian film actor and director. In a career spanning three decades, Manivannan went from being a story and dialogue writer for veteran director Bharathiraja from 1980–82 to a successful director who thrived in experimenting with different genres, before becoming an actor. With over 400 films to his name, Manivannan was one of the most experienced actors in the field and has directed exact 50 films. Manivannan was mainly a supporting actor in films and often played the comedian or the villain’s role.
During his lifetime, he supported various political parties, including the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam and the Marumalarchi Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam. He later became affiliated with the Naam Tamilar Katchi and had long supported its ideology of Sri Lankan Tamil nationalism.
After finishing his schooling, Pandu entered the College of Arts and Crafts in Chennai and nurtured an interest in creative art. Pandu made his acting debut in Karaiyellam Shenbagapoo joining his brother Idichapuli Selvaraj who had appeared in several films a comedian. He played a supporting role in Agathiyan’s Kadhal Kottai portraying Ramasamy who accompanies Ajith Kumar in Rajasthan.
In 2013, he starred in Vellachi, which featured his son Pintu Pandu in a leading role. He designed Tamil Nadu Tourism Logo Umbrella and got prize and appreciation. He designed the Two Leaves Party Logo under the instruction and supervision of AIADMK founder leader MGR
Away from films, in 1975 he started a brass and aluminium business in Chennai called Prapanj Unlimited. He runs it as a family business, with son Prabhu Panju in charge. In 2014, he held an art exhibition alongside another son Panju Pandu.
